November 27th

Good morning WOW faithfuls!

Kerryn back to share a few more pieces from the November New Releases.

I have used the Holiday Snap Chipboard camera as a journal spot in my layout. It has been covered with black ink and then I have highlighted the lens, flash  and the word 'Holiday' with a metallic blue gel pen.

 photo _DSC0007_zpsfde064ee.jpg

To create the title I have put together two wood veneer pieces, the word paradise in a fabulous cursive font and the word pool.  I have used Blue China Distress Ink to colour the pieces and then gone over the cursive writing with the gel pen.

If you look closely, you will notice a piece of the 12x12 Moroccan chipboard sheet tucked under the photo to form another layer in the page. It has been base-coated with white gesso and then layers of sprays and inks applied for to finish.

Pool Paradise

Although our boy is looking very summery, splashing around in the pool, for everyone else in the caravan park it was freezing! What can I say, he loves the water.

november 25th Tanya Kember Project life

Hi Tanya here just sharing the great idea of using a photo as your whole page...Its great to highlight a special event...Firstly you print your photo in a 12x12 size which can be done at most photo labs...I cut my photo into the three equal parts then cut again to the correct measurements...Its a lot easier than it looks so give it a go!

To highlight the WOW  title i have used red texture paste...its a little gritty but looks great i also heated it so it actually bubbles in places...A really cool effect. For this particular layout ive attatched the WOW to the outside of the sleeve just with a few glue dots...

I hope you enjoy trying out this technique once  you have tried it you will love it!
Bye for now and don forget to pop into your LSS and checkout all the latest released WOW products...Tanya

November 22nd

Tracey Henly

OK I know I can't spell so don't look at the title, I will fix it one day.....maybe.

I started out with a background piece I had left over from a wonderful class with the very Talented Louise Nelson.
I have added a template pattern using embossing powder. Then I added chunky gold glitter with glossy accents as the glue. Another layer after that of gold seed beads. To finish it off I have added some WOW chipboard of cause.

I intended to use the largest of the messy rectangles but I actually liked the outside frame that held them all together, so I used that instead. I covered it with gold crackle paint.

November 15th .... Project Life with Tanya Kember

Hello everyone, welcome to WOW, Tanya here to share some Project Life pages using some personalised WOW.

The small chipboard and wood veneer is great to add to your project life, its not too bulky at all and enhances your work.

This page is a month of sport that we had in our household during one weekend. I prefer to do my project life monthly with whatever has happened to us in our crazy busy world. I don't worry if events are different...we as mums are all time poor and this is a great easy way to capture our lives for memories to share in years to follow.

My son, plays football for the local team, they are Albion Park Oak Flats, I got WOW to make me a personalised title for this page.

My son, plays football for the local team, the are Albion Park Oak Flats, I got WOW to make me a personalised title for this page.

I have used texture paste on this title with gesso underneath as their team colours are maroon and white.

My husband played his grand final for bowls this weekend too. I have used a chipboard WOW title with blue liquid pearls dabbed on it.

Also added an eagle misted with Heidi Swapp gold mist.

I have added the titles to the outside of the page protectors. This is so the title can cover a few different lots of photos, and its also a great way to use larger WOW title.

WOW can do personalised titles for all occasions.....pop into your lss and ask them how to order some.

Have fun with your Project Life, see you back with some more soon
Tanya

November 12th

Hi Everyone,

This is a layout I did for a Lindy's stamp Gang colour challenge last month. It is a much softer palette than I usually go for but my daughter loved it.

I started with a 12 x 12 piece of chipboard so I could throw a lot of wet medium at it and it would hold up.
I used two different sizes in the butterfly mesh and I cut them into pieces so i could spred them out more.
I glued the mesh down first and then crumpled some book papers and glued them down in the focal area.
You then cover the lot with white gesso and let dry.
I always start with the lightest shade of colour I have chosen and work my way up. I let them dry in between and just add more as I see fit.
I then used coordinating embossing powder on the butterflies and the doyley corners used under the photo. The word YOU was heat embossed also.
Finished off with some metal and flowers.
Last of all get a texture stamp you like and some black archival Ink and add some interest to the back ground.

November 10th - Project Life with Tanya

Tanya here again to share more uses for your Words or Whatever products in Project Life.
The first one is a page from back in January all surrounding Australia Day.

The Australia Day piece is has been layered with liquid pearls then sprinkled with glitter as below.

LMAO has been coloured in the same way.

The light wood veneer bike has been covered with ink then dabbed with red liquid pearls.

This is the opposite page to the one above and shows another couple of usages of the smaller products in the WOW range.

The light wood veneer camera has been left raw.

The small 'Totes' title has been dabbed with liquid pearls.

Here is another half of a page showing a few more items in the Words or Whatever catalogue.

The 'Selfie' title is in light wood veneer and has been left raw.

The 'Just wanted to say' title comes in ebony. You could use a black marker to get a similar effect.

If you have any questions about any of these techniques, please ask away. Let us know if you use our products in your pocket page albums. We would love to hear from you.

See you soon Tanya

November 7th - Masks, stencils or an embellishment

Hi there, Malinda here with my first share at WOW.

With all my pages you'll notice that I like to use bits and pieces, here and there. I love to tear bits off, keep them raw or ink or mist or paint them, Lately my love is my posca pens; great for a quick colour in. Anyone else in love with them?

I love masks. I love stencils. I love templates. And I love embellishments. And I LOVE when I have chipboard or wood veneer I can use for all of those things.

On this page I've used the 6X6-Square-Frames  firstly as a stencil or template I've traced around one size and then I've used another size as a frame. I also used that same smaller frame as a stencil underneath the actual frame just to give it a bit more depth.

I really wanted to grunge up this page so I inked then coloured in some some panelling and placed it behind the pic. Love the industrial feel this adds to the page.

And last but not least, no boy page is complete without stars and this STAR in the light veneer adds a bit of direction too, moving your eyes towards the journalling. and these days I HASHTAG everything so how good are these little # (in dark veneer) for a title!

Well that's my first page for WOW.
Stay tuned for another page in a couple of days using more of the great WOW stuff.

November 3rd

Hello & welcome to the WOW blog today!

Don't you just love the start of a new month with the reveal of new products!
Definitely one of my favourite times.

Firstly I decided, after a very long absence, to tackle a double page layout, I can hear the gasps from here! But with the help from a fabulous sketch created by Laura Whitaker, I think I have pulled it off!

I've used the new release chipboard 'Enjoy the day' as my title. Base coated with gesso and then covered with metallic Gelato for a little sparkle and the perfect match to the papers.
A final coat of Glossy Accents to enhance the sparkle.

Enjoy the day

Some great snaps from a recent trip to a newly renovated playground in the city.
The boy had a ball!

My second page is my latest DT sample for the new challenge over at STB. Showing that our boy does have a very soft side.

You can spot the new release Scribbled Butterfly and Bumble Bee, which I love.
They have been covered with black ink and then rubbed with multiple colours of Metallic Rub. The thin layer of Glossy Accents helps the colours to appear.
