A Day with Tess - 'Not all who wander are lost'

Happy Monday to all our Words or Whatever followers, Tess here today. I don't know about you, but this year is flying past and it will be Christmas before we know it. For us in Australia, the temperatures are starting to heat up and it's looking to be a long hot summer.
I had a bit of fun piecing this one together and couldn't wait to share it.

Not all who wander are lost
Using Chipboard Small Birdcages (WOW1541) and Chipboard Mini Clouds (WOW1931)

The Words or Whatever items on this page are go to items in my stash. I just love the birdcage and how detailed it is. They have been misted with a white mist, then layered with a white glitter, just to give them a bit extra. Unfortunately in these photos you cant see the glitter, but I can promise you it is there (and all over my scrap space!).

I have always loved the subtle effect of white on white. It just makes some layouts complete.

Well thanks for stopping by. There will be more get pages to share this week from some of the other gorgeous DT girls. Make sure you come back and check them out.

Don't forget, it you love the Words or Whatever items you see, contact your scrap supplier and get them to order some for you. You will love them!

A day with Kerryn - Always radiate sunshine

Good morning everyone, it's my turn to entertain you today with some WOW inspiration.

I was also lucky enough to join Sue, Tess and Sandra on the weekend for what was an amazing retreat, loads of talent in one room and plenty of WOW around the place. I did manage of few pages, but I think this one was pretty close to being my favourite.

This page was include in one of a trillion challenges that were set for us, maybe I am exaggerating a little :)
It was to include the bottle top on your page.

I have used Wood Veneer Mini Butterflies and the small chipboard Loopy Doily

 photo _DSC0005_zps592a0d59.jpg

The butterflies have been roughly covered with turquoise Stickles for a translucent effect, so the wood clearly appears through the Stickles.

 photo _DSC0007_zps6d71ebb7.jpg

The loopy doily was covered with Versa charcoal ink as a base and then small parts of the doily were highlighted with metallic rub.

 photo _DSC0008_zps4f089811.jpg

That is all for now. Remember there are only a few more days left to enter this month's challenge which is simply 'Use your WOW' on a page. Too easy peoples, hope to see loads of entries!

Enjoy your day, finally some sunshine here to soak up.

A day with Sue - 'Hello Sailor'

Hi everyone...just a quick post from me today.

I went to a fantastic retreat last weekend, so I'm just going to share with you one of my creations from that weekend.

I struggle a little bit with my scrapping on retreat or at crops because I'm not surrounded by ALL my stash, but I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out.

It was an entry for one of the MANY challenges we were given. For this challenge we had to use the small envelope and flag provided, and this is what I came up with...

I created the background using the 12x12 Plus Sign AltaMATZ  and Color Wash spray and the date is from the 2013 chipboard pack which I coloured with black texta.

Be sure to pop back in to see what else we are up to on the WOW design team, and don't forget to enter into the WOW challenge (entries are due 21st September) for a chance to win a fantastic prize pack!

A day with Tess - 'Pure Bliss'

Hi land of WOW, Tess here. I have called past today for a quick blog post giving you all a sneak peek of one of the next new release chipboard titles. I am loving what is coming up and I just know you all will too.

I have been playing around with new techniques to cover chipboard and have been giving nail polish a go. Yes, nail polish.... It is fantastic as it is cheep, comes in a mass of colours and most of us have a few bottles laying around the house.

It can be left to dry naturally for a shine effect (similar to dimensional magic) or heated to give it a bit of texture.

Pure Bliss

I have used a very light yellow nail polish on the chipboard title on this page and left it to dry naturally.

Tip: Make sure you use the nail polish in a well ventilated area.

I have also used a wood veneer brush heart (WV037) coloured with a sharpie marker (these are a favourite in my stash).

Thanks for calling past and checking out what is coming up at Words or Whatever. Contact your local scrap shop to order any of the current range.

A week of WOW with Tarrah.....Precious Memories..

Hi everyone,
It's Tarrah here with you today for my first proper blog post sharing a layout I created using some of my favourite WOW pieces!! This layout is also my Creative Team sample for the September White With 1 challenge.

WOW products used:
Memories Word (Custom cut for Scrapbooking from Scratch)
Mini Speech Bubbles

To achieve a look like this, I will show you a few of my creating steps...
Choose your desired WOW 6 x 6 Altamatz stencil/mask and apply some texture paste fairly liberally over the mask....

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to speed up the drying process, then apply a few squirts of your chosen mist, once dry, start embellishing using your favourite WOW chipboard, in my example I have left the Chloe Flourish chipboard in its raw state.....

Choose a paper doily to cover some
of the mist and masked area...

I have layered two of the exact same
photo on top of each other, I added a Maya Road
flower, a flair button and a journal card.
On the WOW custom made Memories word,
I applied texture paste and some mist also.

I have a few more layouts to share with you through the week so be sure to stop by again on Tuesday for another WOW layout share by me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today...
Tarrah :)

Kerryn's Week - We are family

Hello! Welcome back to the blog on this fine Saturday morning.

It's my last share for the week and then it's time to hand the batten to Tarrah

Today's page is We are Family
My page features photos from May this year when all of my family was together for my parents 50th anniversary.

I will admit, I absolutely love my sheet of chipboard 2013 and yes they have appeared on many of my pages of late. It was a very sad moment when I realized I have nearly used them all. This one has been  covered with green ink to match my page. The Love Speech Bubble has been coloured with Distress Ink for a transparent finish to allow the etching to stand out more.

 photo _DSC0118_zpseae69539.jpg

I have used a Krafty Bit as the base for my journal spot. Really love the cut out on the Krafty Bits, using patterned paper to add a little colour always looks cool.

 photo _DSC0117_zps833828e5.jpg

The title We are Family has been roughly coated with white gesso, once dry I have covered it with High Impact Red for a bright and rich finish.

 photo _DSC0119_zps0bdace70.jpg

I love the finished page, especially when scrapping something so important.

 photo _DSC0116_zpsa4740b90.jpg

Thanks you so much for following along this week, as always I have loved my week here and hopefully in some small way you have been a little inspired.

Kerryn's Week - You are my star

Hello, Hello!
Back today to show off more WOW goodness, hope you will feel inspired.
I've gone back to my comfort zone today, I'm scrapping my boy :)

Today's page is You are my star
A beautiful snap of my handsome boy.

First piece of WOW up to the spot light was the Wood Veneers Mini Filmstrips that have been covered with black embossing powder and then zapped with a heat gun. I have added patterened paper to the back of the strips to give the page another layer.

 photo _DSC0122_zps6477f526.jpg

The Wood Veneer Mini Polaroid Frame has been left naked, but I have backed it with paper to become the journal spot  and form part of the embellishment cluster. The Wood Veneer Heart icon has been covered with distress ink for a more transparent look.

 photo _DSC0124_zps33dd1bc1.jpg

The feature of the page and of course the title is You are my STAR. I have altered the position of the word 'Star' on the chipboard title to suit my page. I have covered the title with red and gold inks and have the words 'You are my' mounted with 3D foam.

 photo _DSC0123_zps89894938.jpg

I have also used the 2013 covered with black ink,

 photo _DSC0121_zps46c38b07.jpg

I have one more page to share with you all on Saturday and then will hand the blog over to Tarrah.

Kerryn's Week - Oh Dear Me

Hey there again, more to share with you today.
This time I've gone a bit girlie for something different.

Today's page is Oh My Dear
This is my beautiful great-niece on Easter Sunday in her gorgeous new outfit playing in the dirt!

Another page bursting with yummy WOW products.

The 3 mud splats from the Splat Pack were the perfect chipboard pieces for these photos.
I have covered them by blending two shades of brown together, Dark Brown on the inside and Cream Brown on the edges. I finished them off with a thick coat of Glossy Accents.

 photo _DSC0136_zps2c628f45.jpg

The Mini Speech Bubble was just swiped with Metallic Rub so the chipboard finish was still visible through the colour and then coated with Glossy Accents.

 photo _DSC0134_zpsab983772.jpg

The You Polaroid Frame was also swiped with metallic rub and used to frame the 'dirt' close up photo.
Love it!!
I coloured the 2013 with green ink but found it faded a little on the page, by coating it with Glossy Accents I found it just gave it a bit more strength.

 photo _DSC0133_zps6de17f50.jpg

Here is the finished page, lots of mud splashes mixed with pink and pretty butterflies.
Girlie enough I think LOL!

Be back again tomorrow with more to share. Hope you will drop in.

Kerryn's Week - Sliding Trio

Welcome to the WOW blog this morning.

Hope you are experiencing some of this gorgeous spring weather that we have here in Adelaide at the moment.

Today's page is Sliding Trio
Recent photos from my Sister's visit. My son and his cousins giving the slippery dip a good workout.

This page features lots of different WOW products.

I used the Random Stars 12x12 AltaMATZ to jazz up the background cardstock, I have outlined the stars with a gold metallic pen and then coloured them in. Simple but effective.

The embellishment cluster starts with a new Kraft Bits Journal Card as the base.
The Mini Polaroid Frame 'Laugh' has been covered with navy ink and backed with lined paper to become my journal spot.

I love the small Tree of Hearts. The tree was covered with charcoal ink first and let to dry. Once dry, I have coloured the hearts with Turquoise Stickles for a touch of bling. The cluster is complete with the '2013' that was also covered with charcoal ink and then given a coat of Dimensional Magic.

 photo _DSC0130_zps63d6ffbf.jpg

The title has been created using the New Boy Alphabet. I have used Metallic silver ink to colour the letters and then sealed them with Dimensional Magic. The final piece of WOW is the Thumbs Up wood veneer icon was inked with a light yellow and then a thick coat of Dimensional Magic was applied to give it a full finish.

 photo _DSC0128_zps76eaf011.jpg

I really love how this page turned out, captures how much fun the kids were having perfectly.

Kerryn's Week - Zoo Visit

Good morning WOW followers, welcome to the blog on this fine Sunday morning.

Best get the formalities of the day out the way first, Happy Father's Day to all the DAD's out there, hope you enjoy your moment.

Now where was I..............oh yeah!

It's my turn to share my creations with you this week. I will have five different pages to show you, spread across the week. I hope they will give you plenty of ideas for you to try on your own projects.

Today's page is Zoo Visit
Photos are from 2010 and feature my son and his best mate.

I have used the chipboard Bamboo Tree and two of the Mini Speech Bubbles

The tree has been inked using three different shades of green and roughly coated with Dimensional Magic to help blend the colours.

 photo _DSC0141_zps227e702e.jpg

The speech bubbles were coloured using red and yellow inks and left to dry for short period. Then using a black gel been I have doodled borders around each of them and used the pen to highlight the words etched into each bubble. A coat of Dimensional Magic was applied to finish the pieces off which also helped to enhance the black pen.

 photo _DSC0142_zps25380430.jpg

Here is the finished page, love the bright colour against black cardstock, it always looks fabulous.

 photo _DSC0138v1_zps2fa74616.jpg

That's all for today, enjoy the rest of the day and remember to drop by again tomorrow for more chipboard goodness.
