Kel's week at WOW...

Hey there followers..!!

It's Kel here to share some inspiration with you today :) I will be popping in during the next week to share with  you some creations to hopefully get your mojo flowing :)

Today I will share 2 ages with you. On this first page I have used the "Friends are angels without wings" (C1210) title piece.

I have used silver liquids pearls along with some blue kindy glitz to accent my chipboard.....

I also used a 'Corner flourish swirly' (C1233) which I pained yellow....

My second page was taken at my boys 4th birthday party and this chipboard piece is so easy to alter to suit any age/gender.... The piece is called "It's my party" (RWL362)... I used paint along with a black sharpie..

And the full page...

SO, there you go! I hope you are feeling inspired to play with your WOW page, or to go shopping and add some to your stash... you won't be disappointed!

Back with more soon
Kel :)

  • Have a go.....remember to go to your lss and grab some WOW and have a go at this months challenge.
  • Entries should be to us by August 17th 2012.

We look forward to seeing your CIRCLE layouts.

Here is my take on the July Challenge....'CIRCLES'...anyone who knows me, knows I love circles, they are a great element, particularly if you are a mother of a boy!  These chipboard circles are from the full circle pack that you get heaps of different sizes in. I have simply spritzed them with black dylusional mist and then added white dimensional paint in dots around them.

This is an event that occurs almost every Monday night at Mums....a 'cousin sandwich' as they call it. I love how they enjoy their time together, always have and hopefully always will be great mates as well as cousins.

Here are some example of the challenges done by the other DT girls...check out there interpretation of the Circle Challenge Criteria.

First up is Wendy...who has created this bright beauty!'

"MAKE A SPLASH"
created using the 'Splash title', 'Lower Case Alphabet' and 'Circles'

Angus just loves the water slide at the local Aquatic Centre. In this layout I tried to create a summery feel, the bright colours and wavey paper background paper, and the bubble wrap stamping in the background.

Next is Susan ...who has created this gorgeous feminine layout

"Egypt crazy"
created using the 'Circles'

“We surprised our 2 with a trip to the Tutankhamen exhibit at the Melbourne Museum last October as Ashton is Egypt mad. Adding the circle to the page has really drawn the eye to the photo of them trying on the head pieces in the Museum Shop.”

Next up is Kellie, who used has used both the 6x6 and 12x12 circle chipboard sheets to document this picture of her son at swimming lessons.....

Little Fish...

"Footy Kid" by Lisa Warren
WOW products used: WOW nested circles and Footy Kid chipboard title C209

Here is Emmas example

"My little sister" using the 6x6 circles  I have coloured the circles in with inks and textas and outlined them with white pen, simple but effective.

Here is Monique's Layout:

"Think Happy Thoughts"

Monique has said:
"I took this photo of Connor at the Mackay Show - To me, circles really add to happy fun layouts - they remind me of the sun, balloons, balls..... all the happy things....
I used the WOW Chipboard Full Circle Pack and picked two circles to frame my photo and some of my title for added interest.
I have also used the new WOW 6x6 Altamatz Background 1 ALTA034.  This Altamatz is fantastic for adding depth and dimension to your background and is perfect for bright, summery layouts.

So NOW......................show us YOURS

Get that mojo flowing and show us your circle layouts...we look forward to seeing them.

New Release

Hi again.  Today Im going to share another new release piece of chippy.  The medium clock (wow1510) I have sprayed this piece with rose tea tattered angels glimmermist then distressed it while still wet by sanding or just using my fingers to push the edges up, I have then used ink & pens to add to the distressed look. I have also used Ebony Whirlicious 9 (RWL9531E) its already a black chippy piece so I just outlined it with my favourite white pen so it didnt get to lost on the black cardstock and the last piece of WOW chippy is the cute little bird (C999) sitting on the flower.

Step X Step

HI its Em again! How is the week all treating you?? Today I am going to share with you a step x step for a recent layout, one of my favourite layouts I have done lately actually.

Here it is, titled ‘Sydney snaps’  I have used 3 pieces of WOW chipboard & an AltaMATZ on this layout.  ok here we go…..

stepxstep15

First up I took a 12 x 12 piece of Black cardstock and used mister hueys Calico White spray with the AltaMATZ 12 x 12 chicken wire (ALTA016) and spritzed lightly.

stepxstep1stepxstep2

Next I prepared my Title chippy, the original piece says Sydney harbour bridge (RWL416), I decided I just wanted to use the sydney part of the title.

stepxstep3

So I used a craft knife and carefully cut off the harbour bridge part (I popped these pieces back in my chippy stash to be used at a later date)

stepxstep4

I then inked the sydney part & outlined the title with white pen

stepxstep7

Next up I sprayed My film strip (C428) chippy with calico white & sunshine mr hueys.

stepxstep5stepxstep6

I then used some orange paint and randomly smeared it on my cardstock.

stepxstep8

Then tear 2 strips of pattern paper roughly 15cms long & 2-2 1/2 cms wide, distress & Ink.  Adhere the strips to the cardstock, the first one roughly 9cms from the bottom edge of cardstock, then the 2nd pattern paper overlapping the top of the first piece of pattern paper.

stepxstep9

Adhere the film strip on a slight angle 6cms from the bottom edge of the cardstock.

stepxstep10

sand around the edges of your photo strips for a more distressed look, then adhere them with puffy tape side by side but slightly angled and on top of the film strip chippy.

stepxstep11

Add your chippy title with puffy tape to the left & bottom of the left photo strip

stepxstep12

finish your title off by adding alpha stickers etc if you wish/need to

stepxstep13

add any other embellishments/journaling you would like, just to finish off your page. I have added a couple of stickers, some journaling and a WOW butterfly (RWL104)

stepxstep16

And another look at the finished layout.

stepxstep15

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my step x step, I shall be back tomorrow with another layout to share.

July new release from Em

Hi I got the pleasure of playing with the COG & GEAR FLOURISH CORNER SMALL (WOW1514) I have also used the plain cog pack (C729) to build my cog corner up to look 3D.  I simply coloured these pieces in with pens & inks & outlined them with white pen.  I also used  AltaMATZ REVERSE COG TEMPLATE SMALL and used it as a template with a white pen to add a cog border around the pattern paper.
